Wild Things

It is fall fair time again and for me that means face paints. I loved getting my face painted as a child and the tradition continues with my kids.{Ok me too, I can't help myself} but the page focus's on the boys. I used my cuttle bug to create the tiger stripes and to mimic the stars in the pattern paper. Aren't my little tigers\jaguars adorable? Ok so I am biased, Happy Monday! Ice Cream

A couple weeks ago, when I told you about the sandcastle competition and the great market place, I forgot to mention the worlds best ice cream. Goats on the roof market place has the most incredible selection of ice cream and glorious home made waffle cones. So of course that was on the agenda for the trip. This is another layout with Scrapbooks etc.'s quick collages {#218} most of you know I love these things, it is a great way to fit a lot of photos on your page with out all the math.

Over at Daily inspirations we were inspired by this sketch by my fellow Core girl, the very talented Paula Gillarde. It was a fantastic sketch to work with, here is my interpretation.Products used Core-dinations (white wash) Pattern Paper and stickers by October Afternoon, punch by fiskars and brads by AC. TFL :)

The return of Fall

As we approach Semptember and the weather here gets breezy and cooler. My thoughts drift towards fall. Fall is my favorite time of year, the warm colors, wearing comfy sweaters and getting back into a routine. So when I sat down to do a Core-dination project, I reached for the soothing colors of Autumn and put together this. All papers are Core-dinations, edge punches by Fiskars, embossing folders by cuttle bug and buttons by foof fa la. Dip, Dive, Dodge

Last winter to keep active I signed up for the schoolyard sport of Dodgeball. Yup the one where you try and hit your opponent with a ball. Little did I know, this sport turned out to be one heck of a workout and a ton of fun. If you are looking for a way to shed a few pounds and have a good time, I highly recommend it. This layout features a few of the photos during the first season and because of poor gym lighting I converted them to black and white. The bright colors of the October Afternoon Road Trip papers were perfect for the go go go feeling that I was aiming for. I can't wait to play again this fall.

Nail Driver

I was so incredibly proud of my 3 year old son, as he stood in front of over a 100 people and pounded a nail into a log. He was participating in our local logger sports. He and his best friend hammered there hearts out, it was adorable. Products used Core-diantions Cardstock and Jillibean Soup Pattern paper

Well today is the start of Cardvarks Blog hop featuring Core-dinations {yeah!!} I had so much fun creating these cards, I am not usually much of a card maker but sometimes when I just want to play with a technique, I will put together a fun card just to get the Mojo rolling. Here is what I created, and when you're done here head over to the hop for a chance to win some Core-dinations paper.

Adventure with a cute find

My girlfriend and I went on an adventure with the kids on Tuesday, we drove out to Parksville for their annual Sand Castle Contest, I thought that I would share with you my two favorite entries, it is simply amazing. There are two categories, single and group, Both have 24 hours over 3 days to complete their master piece, a single competitor has 10 yards of sand and a group has 20, and they have to use it all. THAT IS A LOT OF SAND!!
After seeing these unbelievable statues of sand we headed out to Coombs, where there is the most amazing market, it is called Goats on the roof. That is because there really are goats on the roof, they have a living roof and it is really cool. You can find all sorts of treasures, they have the best ice cream and all sorts of trinkets. One such thing that I found was this really cool box of wooden bugs I could not resist, they were 2$. When I sat down at my scrappy desk they hollered at me to be made into something, so I made a cute little birthday card and I plan on making a whole bunch more cause these bugs are perfect for both boys and girls.TFL :) Products used Coredinations Cardstock, pattern Paper by Jillibean Soup leaf by Maya Road, punch by fiskars and ek success

Handy Man

Good Monday to you, hope you all had a wonderful weekend mine was full of all sorts of events, including watching my husband in logger sports and my 3 year participate in a nail hammering contest. I am so proud of both of them. My eldest son is pretty handy ( or at least he tries to be) so that is what this Layout is all about. I absolutely love this vintage grey core-dinations it almost has the look of steel and these tiny screws from Karen Foster, are just adorable for boy and man pages.

Busy summer

Well I have to admit, summer days have taken a hold on me, there have been a ton of activities and chores, which has not left me with my usual time for creation. So I thought that I would post a few of my older layouts, the ones that are quick and easy, perfect for the few spare moments that we have during the crazy summer months.

Shine a layout from CHA

Now that CHA is over I can share one of my favorite layouts using Core-dinations. This layout uses the whitewash collection, {I have been using that stuff on everything lately} black magic and some of the core essentials. This sweet photo has no special story to it, so I did not want to over embellish, To me it just shines.

Big Trouble

Trust me this pup is big trouble. Into everything!! I guess she is not much different from my toddler in that way, except my toddler does not chew through everything as efficiently.

Papa and *NEW Core-dinations*

I am so excited I cannot wait to get my hands on some of this, Core-dinations unveiled three new assorted packs at CHA in Orlando this past week: Ebony and Ivory™, Sugar and Spice™, and the Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions. The Jenni Bowlin Collection looks so amazing and I can't wait to play with these fabulous textures, wait until you see the demask. All I can say is WOW!!

Here is my most recent layout for Core-dinations, I love these photos of my Dad and Son, the two of them are so animated, discussing the properties of rhythm. I loved the look of the vintage papers, so like the denim in the photo. Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend Pattern Paper by Daisy Bucket, Cardstock by Core-dinations, Buttons by foof fa la, TFL :)

You think you're so funny

I love this layout the bright colors and the larger than life photo, and I also wanted to share with of you how to create the rays coming out of the corner. Hope everyon has a really great long weekend.
Tip: use a low tac painters tape, even then it is to sticky, so before positioning on your paper stick it to your clothes or skin. Create your ray design in the corner with the tape.

Sand heavily between tape, you should probably have your Dust Buddy handy for this project it make a lot of black dust.
Remove tape carefully to reveal your design.

All papers are Core-dinations, letter stickers by making memories, bo bunny and American crafts
