Summertime Blues

From the signs in the weather it looks like summer will soon be coming to an end and although I am looking forward to fall, I really have enjoyed the sun this summer. For the first time in 4 years I have worn shorts, {I have issues with my legs} and I made a point of wear skirts. I have gone to the river and ocean and have tried to make it a memorable summer. With all that is going on, my blog has been slower than normal. There has been a certain lack of creations. But I feel like soon that is going to change. Soon the rains will come and the fire will be lit and in me the need to create will resurface.

In the mean time, 3 Scrappy boys is having a couple of really cool challenges, one is creating with white and another is creating with no pattern paper. This layout accomplishes both. With every layout entered there is a chance to win some fantastic products. So you should join us. Also we have a back to school crop on the 9th of September and we are gonna be croppin all weekend long so mark your calenders.
How, you ask, did I created that embossed border on 12x12 paper?
With my kitchen rolling pin, you can see my picture tutorial here.
This layout was created using almost all Core-dinations white wash collection.
This stuff is so devine!!

All in good time

So I am both dissappointed and relieved that I did not make the Nook team. It is a fantastic place that I will continue to visit and participate, but this go round was just not my time. Which is ok, because goodness knows that I have enough on my plate and I look forward to re applying next time. I know that when things are meant to be, they will happen on there own time.

In the mean time I am celebrating all the other good things and I thought what better way to celebrate than to share the love. My little bit of Whimsy is doing a big give away so pop over to there blog and leave a comment {or more} for a chance to win.

From me I have decided that I will give away a back to school whimsy sampler {a is for apple you know} all you have to do is be a follower and leave a comment here. I will pick a winner Monday. Mondays are great days for give aways!!!

For todays crafty little tidbit, I have this project. This is one of those extremely cheap clocks and I thought that I would give it a bit of life with a facelift.

I took the whole thing apart and then used it as a template. I used one of October Afternoons journalling tags for the center and then just put all the parts back together.
This was a really quick an easy project you just need to make sure that everything is flat enough that it does not interfere with the clock works.

My sisters birthday is coming up and she is a strawberry nut, she loves them and has a fairly large collection of them. So I put together this card with the Fly a kite papers from October Afternoon and the Core-Impressions {Cosmo Cricket Collection}. The little drops of dew are from Queen n Co { I love the little sparkle they add}.

It's not Monday?

Long weekends are wonderful but the always mess with my head. I swore yesterday was Sunday!! Oh well it makes for a wonderfully short week. Today's layout uses some of the photos that I took on Fathers Day.  I used a mix of October Afternoon's Road Trip and Thrift shop and embossed my title with a cuttle bug trick that I am gonna share later in the week.
Products used Core-dinations Cardstock, Pattern paper and embellishments by October Afternoon and bling by Queen n Co
