My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy

So here is my Core'dinations Creative frenzy, as all of you know there is not a project that goes by that does not have Core on it......so for this re-application....I had to prove that this ol dog still has new tricks. So for this first layout, I used my Cricut to carve a pattern into the paper. I used the lowest pressure setting and repeated the circle\diamond pattern over and over. I then lightly sanded the design to reveal my custom Core pattern paper.

For this layout I used my handy dandy kitchen rolling pin with cuttle bug strips to emboss the sides and add fun and playful embossing.

For this last layout, I wanted to see all the great details of one of my favorite Core'Impressions Collections, Color me Happy. Keepin it simple with layers, sanded to show of the wonderful words and design.

Keeping my fingers crossed that my journey with them will continue because
I am a HARD CORE FAN!!

Sunny Saturday

So today will be another quick post sharing a card that I made for my brother in law. The sunshine has got me thinking summer, Oh I know it is only spring but the dream of the summer sun is so tempting. Our family really enjoys camping and I just booked our spot for the annual camp out, so I was inspired to create this little camp fire happy birthday card.

The pattern papers are all from October Afternoons Campfire collection and check out how perfectly this SRM sticker fits into that cardstock sticker. I am sure getting a lot of mileage out of those stickers!!

Hope it is sunny where you are, have a great weekend!

It is that wonderful time again!

I have been on the design team over at 3 Scrappy Boys for a whole year now and it is that time again!!
They are having there DT call, you can get the details HERE. I have loved being a part of this great team and inspiring place but after much thought and inner dialogue, I have decided to step down. With the building of the new house, other design projects and more things to come. I needed to take a bit off my plate, so that I can keep a clear head and not get to overwhelmed.

This is the last layout from the March Main Kit. I really wanted to do a soft palette layout with this. I laughed this morning when my Mom looked at it and said "what have cows got to do with it??" and I said "well, other than I like them, cows make milk and milk helps a body grow. " So there you have it folks totally relevant right?

And don't forget today is Day 2 at Imaginisce  they are Blinging the Mini with more great ideas using the i-rock.

i-rock, fun with fabric

This week at Imaginisce we are featuring ideas and techniques with the i-rock, so welcome to my post for the Fun with Fabric blog hop.
For my project I created this one of a kind onesie,  it was a really inexpensive project. I purchase a plain white onesie from the store and then created an apple silhouette on the front using a hand drawn and cut template. I then created a little beret to match using my i-top and a canvas sticker from the berrylicious collection.
Voila here is my beautiful little ballerina!
So head on over to the next stop on the blog hop, for more fabulous ideas on how to make the most of your i-rock.

Colorful Creations

This week I was invited to be a guest designer for Colorful Creations and was given this wonderful Sketch to work with. I was thrilled to see that it was designed by my good friend Aphra, I find her sketches easy to use and I always love her use of circles.

Here is the layout that I did, I used the new animal crackers line from Imaginisce, it is perfect for my disney photos. great bright and playful colors.

Here is a close up of that fabulous Whimsy button and the little checked button was created with my i-top. The other trick that I used here and one that I use often is, buy white!! These photo corners, I bought a big pack of them in white and I just color them with my copics.

Check in tommorrow cause I've got some really big news you're not gonna wanna miss!

3 scrappy boys March

This months main kit at 3 Scrappy Boys was packed with all sorts of Studio Calicogoodies, I love all the wood grain and the soft palette of colors with a pop of orange and yellow. For these layouts I wanted to include a lot of photos and I find the easiest way to do that is with a grid design or a collage.
The first layout is a simple grid design, I printed all my photos except the focal photo, the same size and then filled in the gaps with pattern paper.

This second layout is an example of a photo collage, I put this together in Photoshop Elements and then print it as one photo. These were some of the pictures from my retreat at Wyldflower Scrapbooking B&B in Qualicum.

Also I love the fabrips by studio Calico, I made this little orange rosette with it and I love that it is self adhesive, so cool!!
I am in the process of booking my next trip here, they have a great deal on right now, so it was the perfect time to Scrap it!!

Turning 5

I am happy to report that when I look out my window I see sunshine. Like so much of the country the winter blues have been hard on me, Grey skies, pouring rain, slush and wind are just down right uninspiring. Thank goodness for fun papers and color on my desk. This layout was created from a mix of old and new Jillibean soup supplies. I have had these photos in my computer since October and the second I saw the new blue and green Spotted owl soup, I knew they were perfect for these pics.

Love the new full page of stickers, so many to choose from!

Sharing some stuff from the heart

I am hoping my behavior is somewhat in the scope of normal, I don't know if it is the cold meds or just seeing my little ones sick, or a case of the winter blues, but lately I feel a bit on the sensitive side. I can't seem to get past how fast my babies are growing. It literally reduces me to tears to look at some of their baby photos. You see, I was one of those girls who grew up to fast, I was always looking forward, trying to get ahead. I was a good teen, but truly it was not one of my favorite times in life. When I reached my 20's I did my best to enjoy all life had to offer, College, World Travels, Shopping, Sports, Fun and Friendships, but I never felt like my heart was in it, I was always looking ahead.

Until........
the day my son was born, I feel like that was the day my life began. That was the moment I had waited my whole life for. That all the other stuff I had done was just checking things off "the list". Now here I am, right where I wished so hard to be and it is rushing by, we say that a million times don't we? I am trying harder than ever before to be in this moment, cherishing each time they say cuddle me, each "love you to the moon" and every blown kiss. All because, these babies of mine have grown into little boys and from there they will grow into teens and from there into men and then the place and time I wished so hard to be in will no longer exist.

I actually told my mother once that when I became a Mom I would not be like her. She gave all of herself to us, she never left anything for herself.  When we all left home, we each took a piece of her with us and she seemed no longer whole and a bit broken. She then had to rebuild herself from the ground up. I said to myself I would not do that, I said I would save some stuff for me! I think the words that I used were " I will retain a sense of self" What I realize now is that she did't have a choice. We were her whole world........and these boys are mine. Motherhood is as wonderful as I dreamed and a whole lot more scary.

Here is a page for March, a good reflection of the mood I'm in.

March brought in with a whoop...

So let me describe to you all in 2 words why I have not blogged..........the flu. YUCK!! Goodness me that is awful, it hit our house like a hurricane. And this Mommy was wiped out with the rest of them.....It is one thing to be sick, but at the same time as 2 boys. Excuse me, can I pass!! When I am in my new home, I will appreciate 2 bathrooms so much more. Anyways on to the crafty portion of this post. On Oscar night my family celebrated my nieces 1st birthday. {I can't believe she's one already}. She is the most beautiful and charming little girl and I love her to bits. Anyways I got her a beautiful green tutu {oh yes you will be seeing that on a page in the future } and I made her this card.
This fairy stamp is by Stamping bella,  I don't get to do fairies very often, but I just could not resist these.  This pretty gal is colored with copics........I'm just learning to use them. The base of the Card is Core'dinations Gemstone, and the finishing touch is a hand made button by my little bit of whimsy.

Also because it is March 1st Imaginisce's newest challenge is up, and this time with a twist. The rules:

Use Melinda's sketch,
and incorporate the following game plan into your completed card using at least 75% Imaginisce products:
1. Three Patterned Papers
2. Three Colors
3. Three Embellishments
(It's all about three's - well March is the third month)
Heres the sketch!
Have fun and don't forget to link it up here, for the chance to win!
