Make your own corrugated letters

Did you know that almost every Tuesday is Tutorial Tuesday on the Core'dinations Blog? The design team features some of their best ideas on how to get the most out of your cardstock. This week I chose to create my own corrugated letters using my Xyron and my fiskars crimper.

Here is a close up of the letters, I love that two tone dimension. I have done this on a few other layouts in the past too here

If you are curious on how this was done, I have put together a photo tutorial with some instructions for you posted on the Core'dinations blog.

TTFN :)

All about Easter

This week on the Core'dinations Blog it is all about Easter, they have some marvelous cards, seating cards and layouts. When I think about Easter the first thing that comes to mind are the Daffodils, I love this humble little flower it's bright yellow face heralds in the spring and it is always a cheerful sight after a long grey winter. So this is the layout that I did for one of my favorite flowers.

The flower was a combination of hand cut petals that were scored and sanded and the center of the flower is a round scallop punch that I pinched around my finger. This would be a marvelous flower to use on top of a napkin ring or an Easter box it is pretty 3D.
Happy Easter Everyone

All geared up

Just went back into my blogger and found this post that I never actually posted, too funny!! I did this layout way back in November of 2009 and it has been in draft mode ever since....made my day :)

I really wanted to bring in some boy bling, I love sparkly stuff and it is sometimes a challenge with boys to bring on the bling, but in this layout I used black sparkles, the buttons are black sparkles, black diamond stickles and these fabulous letters. Because is was black on black, I hoped to bring attention to the title using the little letters, they are Jenni Bowlin with a little Diamond glaze over top.

Products used Core-dinations Cardstock, October Afternoon Pattern Paper, Letter stickers by Reminisce & Jenni Bowlin and Mambi. Buttons by American crafts, stickles and the rockin checker plate texture was done with a cuttle bug folder. TFL:)

The best for last

Today is the last day of Imaginisce's little cutie release party and for this I went back a few years. This photo is of my eldest son when he was only a few weeks old. I get misty eyed looking at these photos, he was such a beautiful baby and I miss the moments that I got to watch him sleep in my arms. It was nice to relive them a little again though photos. I guess that is part of what scrapbooking is for eh?

Thanks for joining me for this week for a little cutie fun don't forget to check into tomorrow at the Imaginisce blog and see if you're a winner.

Let's hear it for the boys

Today is day two for the little cutie release party on the Imaginisce Blog and today we are showing off the boys. I wish you could have seen our design team message board explode with all the creations from this collection. Everyone was so excited about this, including me. So here is my card creation!

This card was hand cut, but I can't take all the credit, I saw the idea at the Scrapbook Carnival last year and have wanted to create one ever since.
I find the best way to create these kind of designs is to create a template. I start with an 8.5x11 piece of paper and do a rough drawing. When a design is symmetrical like this one I  fold it down the middle and cut out along the side that I have drawn best and then unfold. Here is my template so you just have to save it, print it on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper,  fold along the straight edge and cut. This will save you the drawing part, then all you do is decorate, with buttons, pockets and anything else you like!

Don't forget there are chances to win our newest collection over at the Imaginisce Blog so head over to check out all the other creations.

Good morning cutie

Hey there everyone today is the start of the Little Cutie release party with Imaginisce. This is such a fun collection and I loved working with it. It really brought back memories and honestly brought on baby cravings {that may be good or bad LOL}.
All week long the design team has come up with a TON of cards, home decor and layouts with this collection.

To start I created this little girl kleenex box, As a mom I am constantly reaching for kleenex for noses and what not, so I thought this would be a great idea and the chipboard flower fit PERFECTLY.

Don't forget on the Imaginisce blog, there are more prizes to be won and inspiration to be had!! So be sure to stop by.

Jenni Bowlin and Core'dinations

Oh life is exciting around here!!! There is so much going on I've been moving dirt by the ton loads and working on the landscape. The sun is out and I am in the mood to plant, so I've got some new trees. Sorry that blogging has taken a back burner, but I have been deprived of the sun for far to long not to take advantage of it now.

This week over on the Core'dinations Blog we have had amazing examples of project Jenni Bowlin style. I love the rustic appeal of these papers and all the elements are so tactile.
This was my layout for this week, For the "wave" texture I cut the cherries off the top of the paper and it worked perfectly for this boyish layout!!

Off to play some more in the sun, till tommorrow.....

Paper Piecing April Challege

It is Monthly challenge time over and Imaginicse and this month Penny and I challenged the team to do some paper piecing. There are so many different ways to do this great little technique. You can hand cut, cut it with a diecut machine or do what I did and cut up a stamp. I used my snag em elephant stamp and stamped him several times on different pattern papers.

I then cut out all the different pieces and put them back together to create this

I used a white gel pen {uni-ball signo is my fave} to color in the toes, eyes and feather in the center.

So here it is all put together......now head over to the Imaginisce Blog for a chance to win and check out all the other fabulous examples. Don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win and for another chance let's see what you can piece together!!
