So I have huge news..................for those of you like me who can't make CHA summer, boy have I got a treat. Core'dinations is hosting its very FIRST online crop. You are all invited, there will be two whole days of fun challenges, great prizes and even the chance to become a guest designer for Core'dinations.

We have the Facebook page already up and running just click on the picture below, join the fun, invite your friends and mark your calenders, this is gonna be awesome! During the crop, members of our DT will be around to answer questions and also provide tips, techniques and examples for getting the most out of your Core'dinations Cardstock

I really hope you will join us!!

In other news, today was a fabulous day in my little world of construction. Something as simple as a set of stairs can make whole worlds open up. For me this world is my future crafty space. Up until now the only way to get up to this space was a 15 foot ladder, kind of a no no for this momma right now.

But now.........

I just love the angles and the pastoral views. This will be a space and can really sprawl out and create in, plus have room for a few friends :)

until later...........

Hap-bee Birthday

I know, I know super cheesy, but hey it is a quick card.
I always seem to need more birthday cards, so I whipped this one up with Bella Blvds Sunshine and Happiness collection and ooooh surprise surprise more of May Arts Chevron ribbon ;) The embossing with a darice embossing folder and Core'dinations gives this card some interest.

Easy Journalling strip tutorial

The wonderful week with Bella Blvd continues with this layout using their new sports collection. The colours worked great for my travel page. It seems like every time I use this journalling strip technique someone asks how it is done, so today I have also posted a quick photo tutorial to show you how is works.

The things that you will need are a very cheap Dymo labeller, I got mine at staples, {I believe that it was around $7.00} However I believe any manual embossing labeller will work if you can access the feed. Core'dinations Cardstock, a sanding block and a paper trimmer.

The first thing that you need to do is cut strips of  core'dinations cardstock to match the the width of your feed, mine is 3\8 inch
I highly recommend using a HIGH contrast color core, this will make your text easier to read.

Click the trigger a few times very lightly to feed the paper in, and then select the letter you want, giving the labeller a good firm squeeze for each letter. You will notice that I have to leave the "door" open to allow the paper to feed through.

Lastly place you newly embossed journalling strip on a flat surface and sand lightly to reveal the text.

VOILA, wonderful journalling strips

and a little close up of this very technique.

I hope that you will give it a try and if you do, please share on Core's facebook page. We love to see what you do.

A date with Bella Blvd

So today is my feature day with Bella Blvd and I took full advantage of the new baby boy collection. With a new baby on the way I really needed to finish up my youngest's first year album. So I created these 8x8's

So many of Core'dinations collections and colors went PERFECTLY with these papers. It made it EASY.
and I love that little giraffe, don't you??

Also one of my friends just had a very healthy 9lb 8 ounce boy so I put together a quick card for her!!

I love this collection and have plans to do a few more layouts with the scraps :) till then!!

Raise the roof

Another incredible week ahead, today is the start of our week long team up with Bella Blvd. I think this is the best trade yet!!! Our DT had so much fun and was so inspired by these collections that we have lots of projects to share both on Core'dinations facebook page and the Core' Blog

and as promised last week.............check it out, I have roof trusses

I could not be more excited about this vault

It has been a sight to behold watching something that was only a vision in my head come to life.
I am sure that my building team would have laughed at this crazy pregnant lady running the show, if they had seen the tears that welled up when the vault in my great room finally arrived.

My Bella Creations will be up tommorrow so be sure to check back

Strawberry Sweet

There are a whole bunch of birthdays coming in August and I have no idea how much time I will have to devote to creation with a new baby, two boys home from school, a house in the works, and the small reno in our current home to make room for a nursery. I know you must be thinking, "is that all?" Ha ha ha!!
Any ways I had some quiet time this morning, so I made this quick card for my sisters upcoming birthday.

I love my Core'dinations cards, I can just grab a base and get started no measuring required :)
other cool stuff on this card is my all time favourite ribbon by may arts and this wicked cool embossed cardstock from the Pink Paislee Core'impressions line.

Any ways off to do something for Fathers day

Frogs for sale

Today is a huge day for me, as the trusses arrive for my house, I am a little nervous but mostly ridiculously excited. In an attempt to focus, I thought I would get in a little scrapping. Not sure if I am happy with the results........perhaps it is hormones and being scatterbrained.

The students of my sons school do a gym sale, to help them learn about math and the value of money. Tannin chose to make these adorable little cookies and carefully piped the cookies and placed their chocolate chip eyeballs.

I pulled my cardstock colors out of some of Cosmo Crickets, garden variety pattern paper.
I love the bright colors, makes me happy on this rainy day.

I can't wait to share today's house progress, should be a HUGE change!!

we have walls

So my posting has been rather sporadic as of late. But amazing things are happening all around me and I am just barely keeping up with them all. First is the house, I showed you the start of that a couple posts back and here we are today.

This is the front of the house

This will be my kitchen and dining room

and this will be a beautiful set of french doors overlooking my back yard

This house will in no way be finished in time for baby, but that has not stopped me from putting things together for the current nursery. Right now I am on to curtains..........I am gonna put together a design board to show you, cause I really want to scrap it.

Something pretty and new

I love finding new and wonderful things and this weekend while blog cruisin, I came across Pretty little Studio. Apparently they have been around since at least mid 2010 and they have some seriously wonderful and whimsical retro products. So since I was in a scrappy kind of mood I looked up their most recent sketch challenge and played along.

I played along with what I had on hand.......a mix of Echo Park, Jillibean Soup, the awesome embossed word Cardstock is from the color me happy collection by Core'dinations and that fabulous sun burst is from Greatest view

So I'm off to have a lazy sunday and do a little scrappy shopping.

Having fun

This weekend I am taking a little time out from construction to participate in the Sunshine Crop, with Creative Scrappers. If you love sketch's, this is a marvellous blog with a number of talented sketch designers sure to inspire. This weekend is a special event where they have challenges and prizes and all sort of fun stuff going on. So if you wanna join in the fun check it out, we've got a great facebook page going.

I took my inspiration from this sketch, I had a ton of journalling cards from OA so for a fast and easy layout I used a bunch of them in place of the blocks.

I have this brand new embossing folder by lifestyle crafts, that had this star pattern that mimicked one of the pattern papers that I used, so on my Core'dinations cardstock I used my embossing folder and hammer trick.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend
