Summer Love

This summer has been beautiful and warm and it is not often around here that you have weather warm enough to take photos of a newborn outdoors. I am so glad that I made a little time to take these photos of her. She has changed so much in these few short weeks. The elegant chair inspired me to pull out the Basic Grey Core Impressions, paired with this rich purple Kraft Core

Now that I finally have a daughter, I feel like I can finally participate in the butterfly trend with this beautiful spellbinders die.

Ah but fall is in there air, the mornings are getting quite frosty. It is almost my favourite time of year

In the midst of wondrous chaos

Hey there friends, in this moment the baby is sleeping soundly in her rocking chair in the kitchen, dinner is on the stove and there is laundry that needs to be folded in the living room. It is CHAOS and I wouldn't have it any other way. My daughter keeps me busy, school has started and my eldest now has hockey 3 days a week.  Somewhere during all this I found a moment while the baby napped, to scrap. I used another October Afternoon Sketch to put together this layout.

The sun is miraculously still shining so work on our house continues, we are now getting to the finishing details on the exterior. Check it out!

My doors are all stained and in now, I love them so much, this will be the kitchen and dining room!

I think I always say that I am looking forward to the calm of fall, but who am I kidding? My life is never calm!!

Hope you are all keeping your scrap on

Softer side

This little girl is really bringing out the softer side of me. As I look back at my work, even when I was pregnant, I was leaning towards soft colours and pastels. So now that Pippi is here, I am pulling out the tulle, the lace and the pearls and having a blast. The inspiration for this layout came from Marcy's sketch over at October Afternoon

I used a variety of brads from the cake walk collection, mixed with this super cool sun burst flair from Greatest View. Also I  used washi tape from freckled fawn to cover the teddy bear chipboard.

Summer has been quite wonderful, but very busy. I must admit that I am really looking forward to the kids going back to school this week, it means half the mess, half the laundry, half the food and hopefully twice the creative time. Here's hoping!

After much debate

So I have been back and forth and back and forth over this decision........I am a huge fan of Bella Blvd and I desperately wanted to try out for their DT, but my little baby girl is not giving me any time to work on my submission. It has me thinking that this may not be the right time to add more Design work. It is disappointing but I really do have so much on my plate right now, I don't think that I could do there fabulous stuff justice. That being said I did create these two layouts as I hummed and hawed over whether or not to apply.

I love this one of my little girls first sleep in her beautiful bed.

and this one with her very loving brothers.

I wish all the fabulous ladies who are trying out for the team the best of luck, hopefully next go round I will have more time to devote to one of my favorite companies {sigh}

How sweet it is

Hello my friends sorry about the long absence, this little girl of mine seems to be just like her Mama, and stay up late........totally taking up my scrappy hours.  But this week Core'dinations has teamed up with Sweet Stamp shop and Petaloo and I was totally inspired by these great products and a new photo :)

I got this photo when my little Pippi was only one day old

and the stamp I recieved from my sweet stamp shop was PERFECT, because it was so true, The contents of this adorable little package has had me doing the happy dance for weeks. Core'dinations tags were the perfect spot to stamp on.....cause as some of you know I am a bit of a stamp'a'phobe and this way it is fairly non committal.

I used this little scrap of October Afternoon  paper to inspire my color theme

You will find that all the other gals have FABULOUS back to school themed projects, but me with my baby brain neglected to read that part...........so this was what I created. I'll have more to share soon.
