Debut at Got Sketch?

I am still away at CHA and having an incredible time, I can't wait to fill you in on all my finds and adventures, but alas I am travelling with nothing but my i-pad which makes blogging a little tricky. Since today is my debut over on the Got Sketch blog, I really wanted to share with you my creation so I pre-scheduled this post {now that I have found that function} and am excited to share. If you are not familiar with Valerie's blog it is chalk full of wonderful designers and a ton of inspiration. I've used several of her sketches before and was really pumped about being invited to participate. Here is my layout, based on sketch #109.

I am in love with this line from October Afternoon, I just love this map paper, it reminds me of winnie the pooh's 100 hundred acre woods.
This collection was also the perfect match for some of my acorns from My little bit of whimsy.
After the show is over, I will be in Disney land with my kids for a week and then I will be back, with tons of photos and fresh inspiration.....so stick around.
TTFN :)

Pop on by

So my bags are packed and I'm ready to go.........so excited to get to see all the new releases in person and meet some of my fellow scrappy friends. But before I go I have one more project to share with you. For this little project I traced a Mcdonalds french fry container and used it as a template. Once assembled I decorated it with some of my favorite pieces from the new Imaginisce Animal Crackers line.  Also if you left comments during Imaginisce's DT introductions be sure to check there blog today as they just announced the winners.
I plan on giving this to one of my sons friends as an invite to a movie night.   I have some posts scheduled while I am away, so things won't slow down to much around here. TTFN :)

3 Scrappy Boys January Kit

This months kit at 3 scrappy boys stretched me way outside my comfort zone. What I liked most about this kit was that it forced me to tackle some of those intimidating vintage photo's that I have scanned into my computer. I am not sure why but I sometimes struggle with these, perhaps because I don't know much about the people in the photo's or just because my style is so clean and I don't distress a lot of stuff. Either way this kit was just the push I needed to tackle a few of those photos.

This one is my mom and my great grandmother. I loved that the colors in this kit worked well for yellow tones in the 70's photo and the black and white from the 50's.

I used the scraps to create several different Valentines cards

My favorite thing in the kit were the folded tissue paper flowers from prima and the super cute Maya rd keys. It also had one of my favorite color combinations too!!! Teal and red. :) Hope you come by and check out what the rest of the DT did!!

Getting to know me!!

So today is my official introduction on the Imaginisce blog, and over there you can find out all sorts of little odds and ends about little old me........Like what I was voted most likely to in high school, my favorite food and some other odd tidbits. I have been a long time fan of Imaginisce, my style tends to lean towards the cutesy and lets face it, they have LOTS of cute stuff!!! It is incredibly hard for me to pick a single collection to name as my favorite so I thought that I would share with you some of my favorite creations.

Starting with this one from Teachers Pet and a little scooters vacation

I loved the On the Go collection for my boys

More Scooters vacation, I love the airplanes, just so fun.

I used Christmas Cottage a lot this year, but I think this was my favorite layout with it.

This one was from a few collections, but mostly twitterpated and it was published in Canadian Scrapbooker.

This years fall collection, apple cider was one of my all time favorites I loved the colors. These are basically all the colors that are in my house.

and lastly, my newest creation featureing Enchanted.

Thank you so much for joining me!! Be sure to follow along and leave a comment here and on the Imaginisce blog, to be entered in a draw for prize pack filled with Imaginisce goodies.

Recycled Pin cushion

Like many of you I have a love for stick pins, and I have been on the look out for a pin cushion big enough that I could see all my pins. I have not seen any thing like that, because most of them were not meant for decorative pins. So I went through my extra frames and found this. One of my boys broke the glass in this awhile back so it was in my fix it box. I cut a piece of foam to fit and then used my new cordless glue gun from Imaginisce to adhere this yellow gingham fabric.

And voila!! A pin cushion to show off all my favorite pins. This can either sit on my desk or I can hang it on the wall, but I am so excited.
The pins are mostly my little bit of whimsy and there are a few of my own creations in there as well.

Caroling King

The inspiration continues over on the Core-dinations blog, we have 2 more days of great projects from both the Core Design team and Helmar. Today my layout was featured. This is my son all dressed up for his first Christmas concert, I was so proud of him for standing in front of all those people, singing his little heart out.
I used the Helmar zots to get some great dimension and used their runner to adhere the rest.
Products used Core-dinations Cardstock, Jillibean Soup Pattern paper and spots, pearls by Queen n Co.

Packing Up

Today is my least favorite day after the holidays...........the day I have to take my Christmas tree down. I try and keep it up as long as possible, but  when the needles start to get crispy, I know it is time to go. I mentioned in one of my other posts how rare it is for me to have decorating photos, but I love the fun photos I got this year when I set my camera up on a tri pod and gave my 5 year old the remote. I thought that I would use those photos for a cameo of sorts. Here is what I did with them.
Here is a little close up of the snow globe by Imaginisce, now I know for the most part it has nothing to do with a tree, but I actually have a snow globe on my tree so I thought it was the perfect embellishment.
Don't forget today is the start of the Helmar's Blog Swap with Core-dinations, lots of great ideas on how to get texture and dimension on your projects. So head on over to the Core-dinations Blog to check it out.

It is also the time of the month where things get hoppin at 3 Scrappy Boys, Fresh new January Kits are in Store and challenges are being posted to get the mojo going. Pop by and come and say hello!

Rock in the New Year

If you are popping over from the Imaginisce blog hop, Welcome!! I am so excited to be participating in my first hop with them. Today's challenge is to re-purpose everyday items that can be found around the house. This canister started its life as a Hot Chocolate container.  It is so easy to peel off the old label and glue on some fabulous pattern paper to jazz it up. Here I mostly used the Live Loud collection, I just LOVE these little  robots. You can participate too for a chance win $75.00 worth of Imaginisce products.

I used my i-rock to add a little extra sparkle to the chipboard robot and I love that I can stack the mirror stickers.
With this being the start of a new year, I've decided that instead of a resolution I'm going to choose a word. A word that I can keep near me, a word that I can see written, a word that encourages me to change my lifestyle in small steps. For me that word is FOCUS. I have always been easily distracted. It is not to say that I don't get the job done............it just takes me longer because...........I hit a lot of detours along the way. Whether I end up looking at blogs for hours,  zoning out on the food network or getting caught up on chatting. This year I really want to challenge myself to be more productive and make better use of my time. So I look forward to sharing the benefits of that with all of you, there is going to be a whole lot going on around here. So thanks for joining me and don't forget to head on over to the other fabulous Imaginisce designer's blogs for even more chances to win
and have a
Happy New Year!!
