Keepin it simple

My days seem very long now, as my hubby is gone again, leaving me with the evenings to create. This is just a simple layout, catching some of my favorite moments from the fall fair. I am really hoping to get to some of the more "Springy " Layouts on the go tonight. I got a bunch of new papers with some bright and wonderful colors that I am finding very inspiring.Products used are Scenic Route Pattern Paper and chipboard letters, Bazzill Cardstock, MM tiny alphas, Basic Grey chipboard, Gel e tins Stamps and 7 gypsies stickers.

Fitting scrap time into Easter

So far my Easter weekend is going great, the boys Easter hunt was really cold, but it was a lot of fun. As I sit here, my 31 pound turkey is cooking in the oven, my table is set and the house smells like stuffing. Amazingly, I still found the time late last night to scrap a page for the On Assignment Challenge for SBE. I have said it before and I will say it again “ I love these things”. Pop over and check out all the great ways to use them. Happy Easter everyone.
Products used Core-dinations Cardstock, October Afternoon Pattern Paper, Doodlebug Brads, Adornit it letters, and Walmart buttons.

Sunshine on a cloudy day

I am so incredibly happy, this layout shows off my new family photo. I haven’t had a photo with the whole family since the night my youngest was born, a year and a half ago (shame). A personal friend and excellent photographer Amanda O’Brennan took this photo, she was amazing considering the day we chose to shoot was a rainy, blustery and a nearly freezing day. In the creation of this layout Daily Inspirations challenged us to use the neat bracket tag on bottom. This is one of three versions that you can download for free today on the blog . I love that my title really reflected the weather on the day of the shoot. My family really is my sunshine on cloudy day. Products used are Scenic Route Pattern Paper, Tag by Day, Foof a la button, Acrylic tag by Fancy pants, rub ons by Basic Grey, Doodlebug and American Crafts, ribbon by Making Memories and Bazzill Cardstock.

Going for it!

This is has been a year of firsts for me and it has been encouraging and inspiring. I have always wondered about being on a design team and when I was invited to be a part of Daily Inspirations, I was so excited to work with others and so creatively charged, that I made the decision to apply for other design teams. This is one of my first DT applications, I wanted to apply for teams whose product that I love and use and what could be more essential to a scrapper than Cardstock. Core-dinations card stock comes in hundreds of beautiful colors and with a color in it’s core, it is excellent for adding texture and dimension. I am going to give you all a sneak peak at what I created for my entry. I will reveal the rest when the call is over on the 24th. Wish me Luck!

Alright after this I promise I will move on from Christmas, but I thought this layout was such a good idea. Like many families my house is a mess Christmas morning. Well actually it is stunning when the kids open there eye’s, but it takes only moments to cover the whole house in toys, paper and goodies. Not that I mind it is a part of Christmas magic. I created this LO to honor that mess.Products used are Imaginisce & Cosmo Cricket Pattern Papers, Bazzill Cardstock, Ribbon by We R Memory Keepers, stickers by MM, Chipboard letters by Chip Chatter.

Local Magazine

I was asked to write an article on Scrapbooking in our local magazine, The Valley Concierge, and the editor of the magazine wanted some of my work to accompany the piece. This is the one that I created, I love the balance of shapes and I love that I got to put flowers on it. With so many boys, and being the Tomboy that I am, I sometimes find it difficult to use flowers, but I think on this layout , they are perfect.Products used are Pattern paper by Junkitz and Crate, Carsdtock by Scrap Sally, Flowers by Prima, and stamps by Maya Rd and Stampin up.

Stars up close

Good Morning, well where I am it has snowed again. I have had just about enough of Jack Frost and his mischief. With that being said I am still working on a number of LO's from the Christmas season. In this LO featuring my son and his visit with the Big man in red, I wanted to use some acrylic stars. It is always a creative adventure to try and find ways to attach them to the page and not have your adhesive showing. One way that I think looks kinda groovy is covering the back with a rub-on. It does a great job of hiding the glue and adding something special.
