Heat wave

Well it's really feeling like summer now and I love it. It is a fantastic time for picture taking and there are a ton of great activities happening. Last week we went to the beach and I got some fun shots of the boys playing around. I used this months sketch from My little bit of whimsy and created a summer landscape.
The core-dinations team got sent some amazing stuff from Queen n co like these fabulous felt swirls that create my waves, the flower and button to create the sun and the Rox and bling to create the frame for my photos. The adorable whimsy bird was the perfect finishing touch for my sky
Oh and check this out, I am so proud of my use of left overs here!! I used the negative from my cloud to emboss another cloud into the background and I used the punched out bits from my fiskars border punch boundary waters for my letters. I just cut off the excess and I love it. What can I say little things make me happy!!

Too fast

I have been spending some amazing afternoons with my boys down by the river and at the park, at the lake and the ocean, basically anywhere there is water. I can't believe that is almost the end of July, it is rushing by. The boys they are growing so fast my oldest heads into Kindergarden in only 6 weeks!! How did that happen??  I am doing school shopping already, and soon it will be fall. I feel like sumer has just begun!!!
Here is a layout with some of some favorite photos from last fall. The Man of the House collection by Bella Blvd were the perfect color scheme.
I love these stamps by My stamp box, the acorn is just to cute.

I'm Back with some new core-dinations

My camping trip was wonderful, but it is soooooo good to be home and have a decent full size shower. If you have not already seen it, I also get to share with you one of Core-dinations newest releases. This time we have teamed up with Graphic 45.
I think the diamond here is my favorite, you all know I love grey and this is gonna work so great for Halloween!! Oh the ideas are flowing, I can't wait to get my hands on some
I will have more layout to share soon, I want to get to my scrappy corner, but alas the campfire smell of my clothes will not allow it. Laundry calls!! LOL Tonight I will be able to craft.

A quick leaf tutorial

So I am off and away this evening for a week long camping trip with family, but before I go I thought that I would share how I make the leaves found on this layout. It is one of my favorite techniques and it is so easy.
Enjoy the sunshine and we will see you when I get back

Wet

It is not often that I lift a design so heavily, but when I saw this layout by Mary Macaskill I LOVED it, I did not want to change it at all and so this layout is the result. I loved the bold large photo on the left and the wonderful little photos to emphasize the story, the simple title and the little cluster of embellishments. Her work always amazes and inspires me!!
Other things that I love are these ridiculously cute little bees over at My little bit of whimsy. I just want to find ways to get these on my pages because they are just so ADORABLE!!
Products used are Core-dinations Cardstock, Grid paper by October Afternoon, ribbon by Imaginisce & ki, Sticker by SRM and brads by Basic Grey.

Summer Sweetness

I have the most wonderful new neighbor, and she has the most incredible garden. With us just moving in and all our energy being devoted to building, I don't have any gardens!! I miss my gardens just a bit, but I am glad there is no extra weeding and watering to do right now.  Anyways Barb said she has too many strawberries for just her, so please come and fill up a bucket. The boys and I sat in her garden filling our cheeks and bucket with the most beautiful strawberries ever.

I have been waiting for photos like these!!! I have loved Cosmo crickets Garden Variety since the very first sneak and I have been hoarding it, waiting for just the right pictures. {3 Scrappy Boys has it on sale right now to} I adore the bright colors and playful critters and and and...........the list goes on and on.

I am hoping to get some great pictures because I am so looking forward to using THIS.
You all know what a HUGE October Afternoon fan I am and there new collection, Seaside, does not dissappoint. I just hope they don't make us wait to long.

I have this layout to share today it's created with this months Add on kit at 3 Scrappy boys. They were such nice colors for a kitten.

July Imaginisce Sketch

This months sketch over at Imaginisce looks a little more like something meant for a card, but I thought the shape was perfect for these photos of my son on a large excavator. The papers are a mix of their Scooter collection and Rock On.  Also one of my favorite colors lately is this warm Argos grey from Core-dinations it matches perfectly with both collections. Its's my new beige!! LOL
This fantastic chipboard backhoe is another creation by 3tails. I love the boy stuff that they have.
The top detail was meant to look like a seat belt, that was so easy and so much fun to make
Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone, be safe and have fun!

Happy Canada Day

Yeah!! Wearing my red and white today with pride!!! As I mentioned before I have a new look to my blog, what do you think?? I am so incredibly happy with it, it is so sunny, literally. My good friend and incredibly talented designer friend Day helped me create it.

Also 3 Scrappy boys is having a HUGE sale in honor of Canada Day and the 4th of July everythings on sale, not going out of buisness, but has to make room, because CHA summer is just around the corner. Yeah!!!

Here is one of the layouts created from this months July add on. It has been so long since attempting anything heritage and I love how this turned out, the soft felt flowers are my fave.
and because I don't want to let today go by with out posting something with red in it, here is the layout that I created for Paper Poppy last week.
Enjoy the day, hope you get your face painted, eat, play and be merry.
