Core'addict

Today on the Core' blog is my official reintroduction. I was so thrilled and relieved to see my name on the DT list again. I really don't know what I'd do with out Core'dinations Cardstock. Over the last 2 years this paper has become an essential part of my style. I love experimenting with it, there are just so many ways to customize it and make it work with any style. There is just no way I could go back to anything else.

For our introductions each design team member was asked to create an all about me layout and this is mine.

Here are some close ups of the things that make this Cardstock so special. the circle pattern is created by cutting a repeated design with my cricut using a dull blade and a shallow setting and then sanding.

The starfish is created with an embossing folder that sandwiches the paper and photo together.

The sand squiggles are the hammered embossing folder technique, one of my new favorites for joining embossing folder patterns.

I am looking forward to another incredible year with this team, with fresh faces and new ideas. Take a minute to pop by the Core'dinations Blog to say hello and welcome new and old team members you are sure to be inspired.

Big Dreams

This week has been a flurry of events, the end of school, all the paper work for the house, we have been working on our shop painting and prepping for concrete. In all of this I took a little time and curled up with my collection of Jillibean Soup, it has been far to long since I pulled it out and it was a welcome site. I love before and after shots and I know that in a few years there is gonna be a dramatic differrence here, but for right now it is all just BIG Dreams.

I paired it with Core'dinations and one of the cute My Little bit of Whimsy birds perched on the S.

Happy Harvest Party

Today is the start of another AMAZING new release party by Imaginisce. I am so excited about this one, since fall is my favorite time of year :) I loved that this new line co-ordinates with last years Apple cider too!! We've got a ton of inspiration in store for the next few days so be sure to check out Imagininsce's blog too. Here are my creations for today's little party! First up is this little growth chart. Have you got one of those walls with lines on it in your house?? I did and I thought it was about time to make a chart instead of drawing on my walls!

Here are a couple of close ups, I put a little journalling spot on each section so that I can write there age and measurement.

Up next are some pictures from the patch!

This little beaver was just to cute to resist, and naturally I felt the need to do something with a canadian twist!!

The Big BooK!!

Oh I do hope that our postal system in Canada gets back on track soon!! I am waiting for my copy of the The big book, I submitted to this over a year ago and have a layout in it.

I have a hard time creating serious pages, we are a goofy, smiling bunch and it is not often that I sit down and journal about things that are deeper or have photos that I think would match that mood. I had my camera out taking mud puddle pictures when my son fell down and I clicked this shot. I took the opportunity to write about some of the ups and down he may face in his life and delve a little deeper. I need to remember to do this more often, for myself as well. Here is the page.

Love a little whimsy

So today on the whimsy blog, I've posted with a new sketch challenge.
Here is the layout that I created for it and I would love to see what you can create. You've got a chance at winning a Whimsy sampler so head over to the MLBOW Blog to check out all the details.

For my layout I used the Imaginisce enchanted line along with some great stickers by My little shoebox. This beautiful orange is called tangerine by Core'dinations which I partnered up with a little white wash color called screen door. Of course the amazing buttons are by My Little bit of whimsy. I am so proud and excited to be serving another term on this design team, and did you know it was just featured in this months Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine??? How cool is that????

Happy Fathers Day

Today will be a relatively easy day seeing as I had a bit of a mix up and celebrated fathers day last weekend. I was sure that last Sunday was fathers day. Our family had a wonderful day celebrating Dad and it was not until the end of the day when found out it was not actually fathers day. I got some great photos during the day, so I scrapped the story with this one.

Products used Core'dinations cardsock and Pattern paper and stickers by October Afternoon. Hope that you all have a wonderful and happy Fathers Day!

Sigh of relief

So I have been virtually missing for the past few days because my computer just stopping working!! I came home from picking my son up and my computer would no longer turn on and the smell of burnt electronics was in the air. Thankfully after a quick visit to the tech and a new power source I am all fixed and ready to go again, phew!!

On store shelves right now is the new creating keepsakes Tips & techniques with the focus on flowers. This layout makes an appearance on one of the pages. I think this was one of the best activities as a kid and I still love it as an adult, the super humongous slip n slide!!

For this I used Jillibeans Soups summer squash collection and the colors in Core'dinations Color Me Happy pack are a great match!!

Warm Welcome

I had a few make n take samples left from my trip to Australia so I thought that I would spread the Core love at my local Scrapbook store. Yesterday was the River Scrapbook Rooms Anniversary and they celebrated with make n takes, punch, cookies and big sales. Here is what participants got to make with me. Wine sadly not included :)

I was originally making a mini door hanger, but it turned out to be an even better quick and easy house warming gift. I used the brand new Fancy pants Core impressions, my favorite color from the chocolate box collection {dewberry} and to add a little sparkle I punch out some glitter bugs with the new glitter silk line. Go Canucks Go!!!!

I am cheering for the local boys, Go Canucks GO!! I put together a layout while I watched the game last night, it helped to keep me calm. I tend to get overly excited and admit to yelling very loudly at the TV. My husband who is not a real sport watching type, loves to laugh at me!! So in the spirit of Hockey night in Canada here is a new layout with my son who also loves the game.

I used My Minds Eye Core' Impressions for this, the red X's just seemed sporty to me. and the grey blue colors were a great contrast to the ice.

Imaginisce tags galour Blog Hop

As most of you already know I struggle with making cards, don't ask me why I a just go blank........... and it takes me forever to make one. When the Imaginisce gals said we were going to make gift tags, I thought!! What a great Idea, that makes a wonderful substitute for a card and for some reason they're easier for me. With fathers day fast approaching I made 3 manly tags, {one for each of the father figures}.

I had some more fun with my spell binders dies, I used both the positive {red one} and the negative pieces {wood grain}!!

Today's inspirations are part of a big ol blog hop so be sure to hop along to the next fantastic tag in the line up.

and make your last stop Imaginisce for a chance to win the collection used here!! Happy Camper

You ol' bear

So our Happy Camper Release Party over at Imagininsce was a HUGE success. The design team loved these papers so much that today we have even more projects to show you, this was just the overflow of what did not fit into the party!! Oh yes we love Imaginisce. Here is a card that I created, this was a birthday card for our Papa, and the sentiment inside reads Happy Birthday you ol' bear.

For this card I loved my spellbinders dies, what makes them really rock is the embossed layer around the edge {this is done with the rubber mats}. On this little card I sanded it on the log ends paper , and inked it around the bear. Plus the Core'impressions  wood grain, ummmmm Perfect!!! {my thought anyways}

Natually there is more good stuff on the Imaginisce Blog, so if you've got a moment Check it out!

Winner and a challenge

Journaling is such an important part of a scrapbookers journey to preserve memories and tell stories.
SO this month at Core'dinations we are issuing a challenge….we want to see your Journaling. Here is what you need to do for a chance to win some CORE’DINATIONS CARDSTOCK!
1) JOURNAL, {click here to see the unique way Melissa from the Core' DT did her journalling}.
2.) Use Core’dinations Cardstock (it must be a visible component of the layout)
3.) Link your project to the CORE'DINATIONS blog post or post it on our Facebook page. Make sure you “like” us, too!
4.) Show off a cool Core technique and we will throw in an additional chance to win
The rest is up to you!
Deadline for this is June 15th by midnight PST.

With Father Day close at hand, I wanted to do a layout on my husband, in our house he is the hardest person for me to photograph, he gets very uncomfortable in front of the camera, so I am allows trying to shoot when he is not aware. This layout is one of those, he is not looking but it tells the story of his love all the same.

I used the New Echo Park dots and stripes, I love love love all the masculine colors and the basic patterns were perfect for what I wanted to do, I mixed them with some Core'impressions, that diamond pattern is from the Graphic 45 collection and dappled MLBOWhimsy buttons and I-rock bling.

And Oh yeah a WINNER, that is the part you've been waiting for right.
The winner is..................
Lucy who said
" came over from Imaginisce. I am a new follower and glad they sent me over. Can you come over and organize my scrap room? LOL I wish mine looked like yours :) "

Congrat Lucy please email me your address and I will get your parcel in the mail

Imaginisce June Challenge

What a great way to start June, Sunny! I have been dreaming of sunshine for months and Junes challenge fits right along with that bright and sunshiny feeling. The usual Imaginisce rules apply.

Create a project using at least 75% Imaginisce product (layout, card, altered item etc) using the supplied picture as your inspiration and somewhere on your project you need to incorprate a line from the famous Cliff Richard song, Summer Holiday.

We're all going on a summer holiday
no more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday,
no more worries for me or you,
for a week or two.
We're going where the sun shines brightly
we're going where the sea is blue.
we've all seen it on the movies,
now let's see if it's true.

Everybody has a summer holiday
doin' things they always wanted to
So we're going on a summer holiday,
to make our dreams come true
for me and you.
for me and you.

Here is my creation, I just love all the summer colors, bring on the sun!! For my layout I used quite a number of collections. The dots are the brand new Happy Camper Line, the stripes are from berrylicious and the banners are from Animal Crackers.  I also used the new Basic Grey Whimsy Core'Impression cardstock, I am so in love with this stuff this pattern was one of my faves!!

TTFN:) Hope you play along
