The SUSPENCE

If you pop over to the Imaginisce blog you will notice that there most recent post kindly informs everyone {who is chewing on their fingernails} that they are postponing their decision, based on the number of entries. In case you have not guessed it. I have applied to be a member of there DT and the suspense is killing me!! There is a huge amount of talent applying for this team, but I still keep up hope. Sometimes you just never know unless you try. I love this let's Roll line, so fun, playful and bright. Just makes me happy to look at it. Here is my creation, I adore this little plane, I created it from their acrylic stamp. You can't go wrong for a $1.50. Love it! So I will pretend that I have patience, and wait another week, wish me luck.Product used. Core-dinations cardstock, Imaginisce pattern Papers and stamps, buttons from the button box and punch from ek success.

Monsterish

I had a date with my mail man the other day {rhetorically speaking of course} and he presented me with a box of candy {well my version of candy at least} My first ever kit from 3 scrappy boys. It was filled to the brim with all sorts of lovely Sassafrass papers, thickers, gems, ribbons, acrylic things and the list goes on and on. After I saw this photo of my son I right away knew that I wanted to use the super crazy blue guy. My eldest has hit the fearless 4's and lately has been pushing his boundaries. Some days I feel like I have to be the mean monster all day long, but as my Mom has always said it is not my job to be his best friend it is my job to be his mother. As playful as this layout is, I am really hoping that this stage passes quickly, I love my baby to the moon and back, but some of these days I love him most when he is asleep.

far sweeter thing

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in looking at photos, when I came across this photo, my heart just melted. With his shaggy baby hairs and his cherub cheeks, he really is my angel baby. Over at 3 scrappy boys, Aphra challenged us to create a layout using brads or buttons to make a shape. These Imaginisce papers were the perfect choice for my sweet photo, I adore these cute little animals and the whimsical clouds and colors. Speaking of Imaginisce have you seen this little gadget? It is a brad maker and it is on my list of
must haves. I would love to make my own fabric, felt and paper brads. So cool, if you have a chance pop over to their blog and check out what they did with this and flowers.

Thanksgiving Goodness

Wow what a weekend, the long holiday was wonderful, we had perfect fall weather and some seriously great food. I had the pleasure of going to my hubby's sisters for the traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey potatoes, stuffing gravy and the works. Then it was my turn to host for my side of the family. I got a little crafty and created a table menu, some napkin rings and the place cards for my table. They are all made from Core-dinations cardstock and the sanding lent the perfect amount of fall rustic to my table. Here is a closer look at some of the items. The napkin rings were super fast and easy I just cut bands of cardstock, used my fiskars punch on both sides, then covered the seams with ribbon and a button. For the menu I used my fiskars texture plate, I love this viney pumpkin texture. I hope your Canadian Thanksgivings were filled with fun food and family and for my American friends I look forward to seeing your tables next month.Products used, Core-dinations Cardstock, Fiskars punches and texture plate and cuttle bug embossing folder.

You fill my days with X's & O's

Have you had the chance to play with a Scor-it? They were kind enough to send me one of these handy tools. If you have never seen one it is unique in that it has a raised bar down the center and special wooden tool, that allows you to make a perfect line or crease every time. I am not much of a card maker so I had some fun with it and created the embossed grid on this layout. This was a great way to really customize the Core-dinations Cardstock.

Sharing a sketch for the first time

I sketch in my little graph book all the time, it helps me sort out what I want to do and what size photos to print. I decided that I would share a sketch with the girls over at 3 Scrappy Boys. They are the coolest bunch of ladies, super supportive, encouraging and full of creative spunk. Mia (aka Mikesmom) even took me up on a challenge and created her own version on my sketch. So I have included it here for you all to see.

SO......what do you guys think? What to play along? Let's have a little challenge, Email me your version of the sketch and on the 15th of October there will be a scrappy prize for the winner. This is Mia's great example, love how she inked up the bright colors to make the layout more outdoorsy boy, and how she used the different shapes down in the lower corner.
This is my version, I wanted the woods man feel and this October Afternoon Paper was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. I also wanted the look of a log, so I hiked out into my back yard and took a photo of stump rings then printed it on cardstock and cut it out! I used the scrap bits left over to create the tag and other circle. Products used Core-dinations Cardstock, October afternoon Pattern paper and ticket, brads by american craft and bazzill and buttons by foof fa la. TFL :)
I hope to see your creations too!

A little break!!

Well, I have no excuse for my week long absence except to say that I needed a little break. The beautiful fall weather and the work at the house, plus a couple extras that I can't share just yet have kept me so physically and mentally occupied, that I simply could not bring myself to the scrappy table. That being said I will have some great new things for you on Monday including a new sketch and some examples. Today I will share this layout with you, check out this feast!! Oh man do I love crab and once a year we go camping at an awesome crab and prawn site and just gorge all weekend long. Bring on the garlic butter.Products used Core-dinations Cardstock and Scenic route Pattern paper, American crafts brads!
