Today's Whimsy creations

Today is my day to post on the My little bit of whimsy blog, while I was creating this month I needed to change to shade of pink on the heart and butterfly. Both the butterfly and heart were a baby pink color and so by adding straw color with my copics, it changed it to a darker shade of coral to match the Tim Holtz Core'dinations.

Here is the close up of the butterfly, I also added a little teal to the texture of the butterfly to make is stand out more!

Next up is this layout, Part of my Disney album, love that border by October afternoon see how it Mimics the light in the background of the top photo :)

I used my favorite Whimsy button, the woodgrain

and a little orange lady bug!!

With only a few more days of summer I am out and about enjoying the sun and getting all my outdoor work finished. Fall will so be here and I have some great rainy day projects ahead. Until then I hope you are all enjoying your summer too!! {except my good friends in Aus.......hope you are enjoying your cool winter LOL}

A neat idea

I saw this idea little while ago on pinterest and thought it would be fun to try, turns out it was wonderfully easy using the i-bond. So I put together a quick photo tutorial for yah on the Imaginisce Blog, you can check it out here!

Should be cool for my fall table, when you put a candle in it, it glows like an old fashion Christmas light!! Great for my mantle or my table :)

Geek is Chic

Well it is on every bodies mind right now...........it is almost back to school time, with only a week left in August people are out in droves, shopping for back packs, clothes and supplies. This week at Imaginisce it is no less busy with our brand new Geek is Chic release party. The Design team has come up with a TON of marvelous ideas to help you create one of a kind cards and cool accessories.  Be sure to pop on to the blog and check out all the great inspiration. Here is what I have put together  !!!
This is just what my son in primary needed, his bus number is on the back too!!

This is just an inexpensive frame bought at the dollar store and decorated, this is so easy with the fun die cuts!!

And lastly an adult layout, I am in love with these grey paper clips, grey is one of my favorite neutrals right now :)

Are you ready for back to school yet??? I've only got to pick up another new back pack and I am ready to go.

Merry Cherry

This week on the Core'dinations blog we are pairing up with Cherry Lynn Designs. This is the first time that I have played with these embossing plates and I fell in love with this groovy stitcher plate.

I created a custom envelope for the layout to hold extra journalling and a couple of soccer facts. I used the new Core'dinations Kraft....I am in love with this stuff, if you have not seen it. I must tell you that the colors in this collection are DIVINE, it has it all!! Texture, color, flecks of color variation. I must be seen in person to truly be appreciated. To create my title here I just turned the cardstock over and used the kraft color on the back!

There are lots more example's of these great embossing plates, popping up on the Core blog I hope you will check out what the other Core'dinations DT members put together.

Making it happen

Getting things done is a good feeling. July, as most of you know, was dreadful and after a month like that I needed a feeling of accomplishment or at least some semblance of control. So for the month of August I have been making things happen, spending more time with friends, going to the beach, finishing various tasks on our shop, gardening and making decisions that have been put off for far to long. All of this has made me feel much better however it has left little time for blogging and my computer. I have felt guilty for neglecting this blog over the summer months, but after some thought this is a good thing too............it means I've been living. I'm techie kinda gal, always have been, sometimes  I think that it gets the better of me and I need to force myself  to step away from this machine and engage in life and love. So forgive me for my absence........I'm here, I am just taking life by the horns so that I have adventures to share with you through the pages.

Since de{vices} have been on my mind, I came up with this page for Core'dinations. Check out the border, I used my dymo labeller to create a binary code border.
I tthought that was pretty clever!!

I hope that you are all busy having a wonderful summer and taking time to enjoy life to the fullest......take lots of pictures, fall is not to far away ;)

Paper Trunk and Core

Paper Trunk was an awesome friend this month and sent us core gals a package of goodies to play with, I was immediately drawn to the beachy blues and charcoal and I thought the brand new core Kraft would be perfect to create a little torn sand castle. Also these are the new Core tags I was telling you about last post.

Also check out the little flag on the castle, there is a story to this piece, this was a happy little whimsy bird once.........they are made cute and strong but apparently not strong enough to withstand a three year old playing "peck peck" So this little bird lost his beak....I could not bear to throw him out so when I went looking for a flag shape in my stash....I decided to use this and just pick his eyes off and give him a little sand. Voila a flag!!

Water Works

Today I've been playing with some of the latest and greatest from Core'dinations. You all know how much I love tags so I am thrilled that they now making pre made ones. The tags come with eyelets already in them for gifts and what not, but they are easily removable for the "flat" look that I have here. The other FAB-U-LOUS addition to the Core family is the spotted collection, oh this makes me soooooo happy, this page uses the small spots but there is a pack of larger ones available too!!

The large wave is something that I designed with my Klic-n Kut and used a bunch of scraps to piece it together. My scrap cardstock file is extremely over loaded lately, so I am trying to create some fun stuff with it, to shrink the pile. I used a ton of collections here including whitewash, vintage and Color Core. The stickers are from Paper Trunk and I used Tim Holtz ink to add the blue gradient

Happy Summer hope you're staying cool!!

Page Map Love

Summer is finally here for us on the west coast and I must admit that I have been outside and soaking up the rays, after all it won't be long until the kids are back to school and I have all the time in the world {ha ha funny aren't I?} to craft. As I have said in the last couple posts, life has been a little bumpy and so I am starting of August right with a focus on my family.

Since the nights are when I do most of my scrapping, during the summer I am shorter on time so I love to reach for a sketch to get me started and some of my favorites are from page maps. This month The imaginisce team had the opportunity to create the inspirations for the newsletter and I was thrilled to participate.

This was the fantastic sketch that I got to work with

here is my layout with some of my favorite products

This adorable little frog by My little bit of Whimsy

This wood grain cardstock by Core'dinations

and I used my spellbinders nestablilties to create the date fish

Pulled all together by Imaginisce's Happy Camper line.
