Got an hour or less

So over at Imaginisce we all know that you are very busy, work, kids, getting ready for the holidays. So we have started to add a monthly post called 60 minute madness, simple layouts that can be achieve in an hour or less.
Here is my layout!! I am all about simple sometimes, keeping it pretty straight forward, with the focus on the photo.

This layout used the new Christmas collection from Imaginisce and I paired it with a steely blue color from the Core'Couture line. The silver glitter over this paper reminded me of the snow

Hope your December starts out calm and bright

Fall Fairwell

So I know that it is not technically winter yet, but it seems like the whole world is gearing up for it, there are Christmas light ups happening, the stores are full, minds are buzzing with the who gets what? Outside my window the winds are howling and lots of places have snow. So today I am saying fairwell to fall and embracing winter. My final fall layout is inspired by Novembers Color Challenge with Core'dinations {there are still a few days to participate in this}

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend

What would you do with an i-top 2?

When the i-top was first released I knew I had to have one, the idea of being able to make my own buttons, brads and magnets was too good to pass up.
The new i-top is even better, with a neater fit, and a smoother sleeve it operates like a dream. For my project I made a fall necklace, I used the new 34mm button and threaded it through a choker, then decorated it with some i-roc gems, paper quilling and feathers.

Here is what it looks like on

I hope all of my southern friends have a very happy thanksgiving.

Scarecrow

Well my friends this week I am wrapping up my fall creations and getting ready for the next big holiday. It's been snowing here and that, more than the stores pushing Christmas down my throat, has put me in the spirit. This year I am trying very hard to do as many upcycled projects and hand made decorations as I can. I am blessed to be around so much nature it's time to use it.

Here is my most recent creation, I have been saving this scare crow from Bella Blvd for a year and I am so glad that I did because he is PERFECT!!! I also found that the new Kraft Core'dinations colors are dynamite with this collection

I dressed him up a bit with real buttons and a little bakers twine.

Bella Blvd has a really cool FREE printable mini album right now you should check it out!!

Hope you all had a great weekend

Pink Paislee and Core'dinations

Originally I was gonna call this post pink core, but I bust out in a fit of giggles after I thought about it for a minute. So with a revised title I am here to share that this week Core'dinations has teamed up with Pink Paislee. This week I gave my girlie side free reign and played with a lovely combinations of pink.
This first card was for a baby shower.

Here's another one using teal, both of these cards are from Core'dinations Darks Card set. There are lots of really great examples and prizes on both the Core Blog and Pink Paislee Blog all week long be sure to check those out too!!

Also wanted to share some photo's from my FABULOUS weekend at the Wyldflower B&B, this is my group of fabulously fun and crafty women.

The dining was sensational

This time was even better than the last and she {Jocelyn the owner} is almost finished the new addition, I can't wait to scrap in this space next year.

Look at all that natural light and beautiful windows!!

Next November can't come quick enough!!

Go Go Glue arts

This week Imaginisce has teamed up with glue arts to bring you some great Ideas for getting the extra mile out of your adhesive. I decided to take the opportunity to try my hand at 8.5x11. I have actually never done one before and I have to say this was a really fun size to work with. Perfect for 1 photo and not so much space to fill.

For my page I used the glue glider pro and to hold together almost all the elements on the page, except my heavier elements like my buttons, for these, I always use my extreme adhesive squares. I've mentioned them before, They are the best for holding flowers and florets together so they have no trouble holding the whimsy buttons.

Don't forget to check out the other creative creations on the Imaginisce Blog

Great Weekend

This weekend was so much fun, late nights, lots of laughter, great girl time and a whole lot of creating. It really was wonderful, and we have already booked out trip for next year. I've got lots of stuff to share with you over the next week. To start the week off I took the November Sketch from Jillibean soup with me and put together this layout.

Here is the sketch if you want to participate too!

I used a wide variety of products, the JB Core'impressions, Hearty Barley and chicken noodle, but my favorite part is this adorable little gnome from the apple cheddar soup collection. I love him!!

I've got lots more to share, just need a little daylight to take pictures.

Packing to go Wyld

All week I have been prepping layouts for my yearly get away to Wyldflower B&B in Qualicum. My desk looks like a bomb went off. Wanna see?? I pre plan all my layouts before I go, it takes a lot of work, but it allows me to talk and get stuff done.

This is my creative mess!! I am looking forward to stopping in at my friend Jen's store, Scrapbook Adventures, she has a whole bunch of new stuff and I can't wait.

I have been CRAVING the crab burger with fried banana peppers from the Shady pub, this is where we are going for dinner, from the outside it looks like a bit of a dive, but once inside the menu is kickin and the view is beautiful. I am telling you it is awesome!!

Anyways back to packing I hope to have lots to share when I return......

The art of Journalling

Today over at the Imagininsce blog we are doing a little feature on the art of Journalling. When this challenge was put to me the first thing that came to mind was, I hate my handwriting. Yes I know it adds a personal touch and all that, but I still can't help but feel like once I write on my page it has been ruined by my disgraceful scrawl.
This has forced me to find many creative ways to get journalling on my pages. People ask me all the time how I print on my pages, so here is one of my favorite techniques

Start by writing your journalling in any word processor, I recommend one with a spell check LOL. When you are finished writing print your journalling on any old scrap of paper, or cheap printer paper.

Next hold the paper that you wish to print on, over the text that you've just printed. This will allow you to see if your journalling will fit and allow you to adjust should you need to go around an object like sticker or button. If it is not what you want re-arrange your typing and reprint on the opposite end of the paper and keep trying until you get it right.

Sometimes with thick cardstock it is hard to see through, so I use a trick where I put it up to the window {during daylight of course} to help me with my placement. Sorry about the doodle, I really was using a scrap piece to print on, but I hope you get the jist. See how you can see through the paper to line up the writing?

When it is just the way you want it, adhere the paper you want your journalling to be on, over the printing on the scrap paper and send it through your printer in the same position. You can use this technique with any scrap of paper or pre-cut design just play around.
Even with all this prep, sometimes printers have bloopers. It may grab in the wrong spot or off to one side and in this case when it happend to me, instead of changing papers, I chose to take advantage of the mistake. My text was originally supposed to be centered and since that did not work I filled the void with some doodling and the pencil embellishment. Sometimes mistakes lead to more creative pages!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day thanks for joining me!!

Also wanted to give you a sneak peak of a layout I will be sharing next week, sometimes when I find myself in a slump, I just like to sit and play like a kid. Something akin to playdoh. I play with fimo.............if I like my creation, I bake it...........if I don't I smoosh it up and try something else. This little sheep is one that made the cut!!
Isn't he cute??

Graphic 45 and Core-dinations

This week Core'dinations has teamed up once again with Graphic 45. I received an 8x8 paper pad of the Curtain Call collection along with a variety of marvelous stickers and embellishments. I really love the designs in the paper collection and did not want chop them up to much. I just love the images!! I created the book by sewing cardstock flaps directly into the cardstock binding and then covered the binding stitches with that incredible door knob.  Once that was done you just glue the pages between the flaps.  I also left a fair bit of negative space so that photos can be added, I plan on giving this away as a retirement gift and allowing the recipient to fill it with photos from the party.

I hope you will check out the blog, there is lots of inspiration and give away too!!
