What a great way to start the National Scrapbooking Day weekend.

Here is a little, "did you know" straight from wikipedia.
Over 25 million people in the United States alone consider themselves to be scrapbookers.
Almost 30% of all U.S. households have at least one family member who scrapbooks.
Scrapbooking is the fastest growing sector of the craft and hobby industry and now considered to be the third most popular craft in the nation.
It has also been said that there are now more scrapbookers than there are golfers, as it is estimated 1 in every 4 households plays golf and 1 in every 3 households scrapbooks.

I THINK THAT IS AWESOME!! I am so proud to be a part of this industry, it has brought so much joy to my life including  tons of new friends and many incredible memories.

I will leave you with this card, it was one of those stamps {by the greeting farm} that I just could not resist and the perfect sentiment by SRM stickers. To all you crafty ladies out there have a Happy Scrappy Day.
Products used *new* Core- amour Onyx and Core-dinations Cardstock, stickers by SRM and Cheeky Shooter stamp by the greeting farm.

It's almost here

National Scrapbooking Day that is, I am so so excited, I am going to be participating in an online crop at 3 Scrappy Boys, they have a ton of great challenges coming up and a big sale. I got my first kit from them yesterday at it is loaded with all sort of wonderful goodness. I can't share the whole thing yet, but here is a sneaky peak of what I did with it.
and since I don't like to torture you with out some sort of full reveal, here is the layout from the class that I taught at River Scrapbook Room. Actual this is slightly different from the one that I taught, there are butterflies on each of the circles. But because of my Scrap lifting thief, I do not have a photo of that one.

Calming cardstock

Sometimes I find it incredibly calming to just pull solid colors together and build a layout from there. Then I don't have to match colors to patterns or worry about things being to busy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my pattern papers, but I find some of my favorite creations are the ones I create from solid cardstock. This is one such layout. This is one of my favorite color combos.

Be one with the Earth

Happy Earth Day everyone, I hope each of you do something special for our earth today, whether it is turn out your lights for an hour, plant a tree or just spend some quality time outdoors. We need to take care of this planet of ours. This is what my boys did to celebrate.
You thought it was something really really epic didn't you???
Today I will go and work in my garden, do my part and plant some herbs and flowers. The layout that I have to share with you today is a different sort of Earth layout, my favorite season is fall and I am still working on some of the photos that I took then. A neat piece of info about this is that I used the new Core-Amour but I used the back side, I had this paper sitting on my desk and I just discovered  the debossed waves on the back. I love double sided papers, So why not use both sides of my cardstock.

Core Amour and a little toot!

Good Morning, in my corner of the earth we are about to head out for breakfast and watch the snowbirds {the planes} fly over head. Not sure if I am gonna be able to see anything with all the fog, but it is  agood excuse to go out for breakfast. I was contacted several weeks ago by Nicole over as Aussie Scrap Source asking if she could show off my Hula Hoopin layout and it is up today.  I am in love with both of October Afternoons collections and she had collected an incredible bunch of examples, so pop over and check it out.

This morning I have this new layout to share, I finally got my hands on some of this Core-dinations  Core'amour paper. This stuff is so much fun, I love that sanding it is almost like opening a present, because it is a surprize to see what pattern pops out. LOVE IT.......... and I love the basic colors because you can add almost any other POP of color to match!!

One Card two takes

The card on the left was part of the layout and a card class that I recently taught,  I had to make my Sister in law a card in a hurry, so I used the same template and just changed it up.. I find myself doing that often when I am in a rush, just change the sentiment and the paper and you have a whole new look.

Celebrating a little Victory

I have had one heck of a week, just when you think that a little peace is headed your way you get a week like this. The highlight of my disasters was having my purse, some money, candy and my class layout and supplies stolen out of my car. Today by some miracle my purse was returned to me, via a kind stranger, who found it a half an hour away at the end of a logging road.  Miracles can happen and thank you to the man who took the time to look in my purse and return it to me, it has made me feel whole again.

Today I have this layout to share with you, good friends make all the differnce during hard times and each of these gals have held up my sprirts and been an inspiration. My pick me up this week was the arrival of these delicous papers by Cosmo Cricket, I have oogling over them since CHA. I am hoping that the next little while will remove some of the stresses but for right now I am trying to be thankful for all the blessings in my life.
I really liked the stickers and I wanted to give them a bit more dimension, so after placing it on my blue circle I ran the sticker through my cuttle bug folder and got this cool stitch look. This was such an easy technique, I will be trying it again.

Mile a minute

I love me a little sketch challenge and when I saw this one, on the Imaginisce blog, created by my good friend Aphra, I knew it had to be scrapped. You see, I have a big love of circles, in case you never noticed, I love my circle punches, my butttons and my brads. I reach for them all the time.  So for me this sketch practically screamed scrap me. On top of that I soooooooooooo want to get my hands on an i top tool, which is the prize for this sketch challenge. Oh the circles I could make with one of those.

Happy Easter

Well it is Easter Monday and I am spending my day tidying, lounging and making turkey soup with the left overs. This weekend was wonderful and crazy. On Friday I helped my uncle move, on saturday I did a photoshoot for my friends wedding and on Sunday I held breakfast for ten and dinner for 13. Total wonderful choas. This week looks to be a little quieter which is a good thing since I need to catch up in my scraproom. Plus if I am lucky, I think my FAB-U-LOUS husband has my desks finished and I cannot wait to move into them and share them with you.

In the mean time I am teaching a Class next week at one of our local scrapbook stores, River Scrapbook Room, it is a single page layout and card class, using some of my favorite colors and the new crate paper. Here are a few sneaks of what we will be up to.

We all get a little stuck sometimes

Like most scrappers that I know, I sometimes get a little stuck for a title, I have a ton of photos of these guys together, some of the shots that I have taken are for no apparent reason and I stuggle to come up with a title.  SRM stickers sent me some of these fantastic clear stickers to play with and so I looked them over and thought " Hello friend" is perfect!! What I really love about these stickers is that there are virtually invisible, the trick to using them on textured cardstock is to get out your stylus or bone folder and literally push\scratch them on and watch them dissapear. Looking forward to using some more.
